The Heritage is a hidden object/puzzle game that immerses you in a quite spooky atmosphere. It's 1960 and you're escaping from war, so you seek shelter in an old manor that belonged to your grandfather. The mansion is said to be haunted, and there are rumors about spirits and the tragic events which drove your grandfather insane. Once there, it is your task to unveil your family secrets by exploring the rooms in the manor, while collecting clues to find out what happened.

The game mechanics consists in finding fragments of the objects you see on the screen, and using them to move on. Once you complete an item, you will able to use it to perform a task, like opening a door, starting a fire, or anything that can help you advance. You need to pay attention to the small sparkles in the scene as these indicate a place where you have to locate an object or a location you need to examine. You will be able to freely explore several rooms in the house, and revisit scenes to complete certain tasks. Finding the fragments is not really hard; the real challenge lies in getting to know what to do with the objects found, and how to use them. The hint button can be of help at times, but there will be moments when you may find yourself lost, not really knowing what to do with an object or how to get out of a place. So, beside a sharp eye to find hidden objects, this is the type of game that requires a bit of intuition and some ability to decipher the subtle clues given.

Over the course of the game, you will receive letters revealing details and secrets of this tragic family story. Now, it's up to you to find out what really happened in that place.
